Tom Murray just misses. Out on Challenge Tour win

European Challenge Tour player and former Lymm Junior Captain Tom Murray  just missed out at the "Hauts de France Open"

A fine opening round of 65 enabled Tom to top the leaderboard after day 1. Tom maintained his leading position in the second round with a score of 69.

Windy conditions on day 3 proved a tougher challenge and Tom slipped to second place with his score of 73, 1 behind the leader.

An opening double bogey on the first hole of the final round did not help Tom's cause but he recaptured his earlier form with four birdies on the rest of the front nine. Tom started the back nine with 5 straight pars to give him a chance of capturing his first title of 2018 but disappointingly he bogeyed the final four holes with his birdie putt on 18 agonisingly close he just missed out on a play off.

Tom Murray ended up 2 shots behind the leading pair with a final round of 73 earning him a tie for 5th place and 7320 Euros.

No doubt Tom will gain a lot of confidence from his performance and hopefully his next Challenge Tour win is not too far away.

Well done Tom and best of luck for the rest of the year from everyone at Lymm Golf Club
