The Junior Section is a vibrant and important part of Lymm Golf Club and offers an introduction to the game for boys and girls of all ages. Coaching takes place each weekend during the school terms and competitions that take account of age and ability are played during the school holidays. Our commitment to Junior golf is recognised through our Safeguarding Policy (formerly England Golf’s “Golf Mark” scheme).
Our junior coaching programme is provided by PGA Professional Harry Shaw in collaboration with the GolfProjx and covers a full range of group and individual lessons. Please visit JuniorProjx for more information and how to book.

During the winter months we run the "Junior WInter Series" which is a 9 hole competition each month from November to March and is open to Juniors and Adults. These are team competitions and will use yellow/red/blue tees and will be open to those with a WHI and those without as well.
This is a team competition competing in a league with other local clubs. The format is 6 players, 6 holes pairs scramble and we play twice at each of the other clubs in our league. Holes are shortened to around 150 yards and the lowest handicap at the start of the season should be no less than 37 (you don't need a handicap as they are not used!). For more information about Golf Sixes go to the Golf Foundation page.
Progression from sixes to nines builds on a simiar format but introduces handicaps (WHI or local handicap can be used). It's over 9 holes and is in a league with Styal, Mottram and Ringway golf clubs. Handicap range is 24-54 playing of red tees.
MCJL has been running for 30 years and is a team event for clubs across the region. We compete in a league with the winners taking part in a play-off. Teams of 5 play with the best 3 from 5 scores counting. Each club hosts a match and usually the legues consist of 5 or 6 clubs. Only players with a WHI can play in these matches.
