Junior Code of Conduct

Lymm Golf Club expects children and young people at the club to abide by the following:

You should:

  • Help to create and maintain an environment that is free from fear and harassment
  • Demonstrate fair play and apply golf’s standards both on and off the course
  • Understand that you have the right to be treated as an individual
  • Respect the advice that you receive that promotes the concept of a balanced attitude
  • Treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself
  • Respect physical, cultural, and racial differences and challenge or report if you observe any form of discrimination and prejudice
  • Look out for yourself and for the welfare of others
  • Speak out if you consider that you or others have been poorly treated
  • Report behaviour that appears to fall below the expected standards of the club
  • Be organised and on time
  • Tell someone in authority if you are leaving a venue or competition
  • Accept that these guidelines are in place for the well-being of all concerned
  • Treat coaches and organisers with respect
  • Observe instructions or restrictions required by appropriate members of staff


You should not take part in any irresponsible, abusive, inappropriate or illegal behavior which includes:


  • Consuming alcohol or illegal or performance-enhancing drugs or stimulants
  • Smoking
  • Using foul language
  • Publicly using critical or disrespectful descriptions of others, including posting hurtful comments on social networking sites


For junior teams representing Lymm Golf Club:

  • Good behavior is expected at all times
  • Team members must show respect for all Junior Organisers both at home and away
  • Team members must show commitment by:
  1. Good preparation, punctuality and reliability
  2. Following the dress code of the day i.e. team colours, spare clothes in wet weather
  • At matches
  1. Introduce yourself on the tee, shake hands and wish your opponents a good game
  2. Be considerate to others on the tee when waiting
  3. When playing do not display temper or resentment to your opponents
  4. Make sure you are aware of the rules of the competition
  5. Do not leave the venue without informing an organiser
  6. Report any incidents or problems to the match organiser as soon as possible


Declaration

I agree to abide by the above Code of Conduct for juniors at Lymm Golf Club. I understand that not conforming to the rules for junior teams could result in suspension from the team.
