Newsletter 3, week Commencing 14/1/18 

Round 2 of the best of 5 from 10 Scores, 15 holes Stableford competition, winter session, wasplayed on Friday 12th January 2018 

Congratulations to Arthur Nuttallhaving turned 70 recently, our Chairman fought off George Clark one of our octogenarians, in a card play off, both having scored 33 points. Jim Wilson continues his consisted run in 2018, coming third for the second week running. 

(The word octogenarian has been introduced at the recommendation of Gerald Latham, to replace “Senior Seniors”. A great suggestion but a real challenge for my spelling skills, that don’t exist).

Our winners this week could be recognised in wine speak. Arthur Nuttall - full bodied, George Clark -mature, and Jim Wilson a young wine?

1) Tatton League: Please read the notice boardsand complete the information requested! This notice will be taken down on Friday 19th January 2018. If you have any questions about this competition please contact Les Fecitt.


2) The away days at local clubs open competitionsare now full up but we would like to judge the interest from our members in a two day trip to a hotel and course within 2 hours travelling distancesay in Yorkshire or North Wales, to play 2 rounds of golf with the overnight stay. 1) Congratulations to a very proud octogenarian, Joe Priestner, who has recently become a Great Grandad, with the arrival on the 29thDecember 2017 of his first Great Grandson.


2) Phil Lomas has recently moved from Lymm to Knutsford and we wish him and his wife all the best in their new home.


Health & Welfare


My wife and I visited Helen Foster this week, as did Paul Wright and his wife and enjoyed delicious scones, cream, jam and a cup of tea. Helen wishes to thank you all for your messages.


I exchanged e-mails with Norman Gleave this week,only to find he has ongoing investigations. No resolutions to his problems yet but keep positive Norman, we miss you on the course.


I am aware of other members who are undergoing investigations and medical procedures. We wish you all well and look forward to your successful recovery in the near future.
